Amanda Walton
Meet Amanda Walton, MSWi
Amanda Walton is a student therapist at Hearten House who brings a trauma-informed, human-first approach to therapy. Her path into the mental health field was shaped by her own experiences as a survivor and years of advocacy work supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Through this work, she developed a deep commitment to helping people feel seen, believed, and empowered in their healing.
Amanda has extensive experience in crisis response and survivor advocacy, including multiple completions of 40-hour Sexual Assault Counselor Trainings. She is currently completing her MSW and is continuing to explore experiential, parts-informed, and creative approaches to therapy. In sessions, she prioritizes presence, safety, and listening, creating space for participants to process at their own pace without judgment.
Amanda was drawn to Hearten House for its creative, experiential, and nontraditional approach to mental health care and values being part of a community that centers curiosity, humility, and humans-first healing.
Outside of the therapy space, she enjoys film, hiking, cycling, baking, good coffee, and spending time with her dog, Phil. Participants working with Amanda can expect a therapist who values trust, transparency, and growing together through the healing process.
