Salt Lake City’s outpatient mental health and trauma treatment center

The therapy begins

before you say a word.

Find your path

  • I'm looking for a new therapist.

Whether you need weekly therapy, a multi-day intensive, or something more structured — we'll help you find the right level of care.

Our approach is embodied and experiential, which means the work happens in your whole self, not just your head.

  • I need a more intensive level of support.

The only fully experiential-based outpatient treatment center in the region. Mental health and trauma-focused care, without a substance use primary focus, in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City.

If weekly therapy hasn't been enough, or you're ready for something more structured, this was built for that.

  • I'm a behavioral health professional.

Psychodrama training, continuing education, and an immersive experience designed specifically for the people who do this work — including time to do your own.

Because the people who hold others steady deserve space to be held too.

What makes us different

Most therapy happens in a chair. You find the words, you work through them, you leave.

What we do is different in a specific way. Our approach is experiential and embodied — meaning the work engages your nervous system, your body, your relationships, and your story, not just your capacity to articulate what's wrong. For many people, this moves things that years of talk therapy couldn't.

This is not an alternative to clinical care. It is clinical care, held to rigorous standards, grounded in research, and delivered by a team of licensed clinicians who have trained specifically in these methods.

Hearten House is one of the largest embodied, experiential-focused outpatient mental health treatment centers in North America, and one of the top-rated mental health treatment centers in Utah. We are in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, in a space designed specifically to support this kind of work.

When you walk into Hearten House, something happens before anything has been said. That's not an accident. Light, scale, texture and art were chosen deliberately - because your nervous system is already doing the work of deciding whether this is a safe place to explore your inner world. We want to answer that question before you sit down.

The environment is part of

the clinical model.
