Lauren Pasternak
Meet Lauran Pasternak, MSWi
Lauren Pasternak is a therapist-in-training with a deep commitment to helping individuals navigate the complex realities of being human. Currently earning her Master of Social Work at the University of Denver, Lauren brings a blend of lived experience, academic knowledge, and heartfelt presence to her work at Hearten House.
Lauren’s path to becoming a therapist was shaped by her own journey through adversity. She understands what it means to rebuild from the inside out—and she channels that insight into her compassionate, empowering approach with participants. Drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and a strengths-based perspective, Lauren supports individuals in developing clarity, confidence, and resilience.
She has particular experience working with adolescents, young adults, and members of the perinatal population, especially those navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and the ongoing impact of trauma. Whether someone is exploring identity, recovering from loss, or simply trying to manage everyday life stressors, Lauren offers a space where honesty, creativity, and humor are welcome.
Her sessions are equal parts grounding and motivating. She creates an environment that is warm and nonjudgmental, while also being direct and focused on growth. Her goal is for participants to leave each session feeling more empowered and equipped to move toward their goals.
Lauren is also a passionate advocate for individuals living with chronic illness and survivors of trauma. Her dedication to inclusive, person-centered care is rooted in values of empathy, community, and whole-person healing.
When she’s not working with participants, Lauren can be found biking, skiing, or camping in the mountains, hanging out with her partner and their fluffy dog, or enjoying a low-key night watching favorite shows with friends. She's someone who values authenticity, laughter, and deep connection—and she brings all of that into her work at Hearten House.
Why Hearten House?
Lauren was drawn to Hearten House’s innovative, expressive, and trauma-informed approach to therapy. She believes that healing doesn't have to be sterile or rigid—it can be playful, personalized, and genuinely engaging. Whether that means taking a walk outside, painting through pain, or simply having a real, unfiltered conversation, Lauren is here for the kind of therapy that meets you exactly where you are.
Fun Fact:
If you're lucky, you might get to meet Lauren’s dog during a session. He’s not licensed, but he’s a very good boy.
